Yes enable the protection… Could you install the updates in small groups as there was one last month that was a total pain to install, it had to be on its own
Ok I will try that
I was able to install most updates with the exceptions of 2 important update, Windows security essentials and IE 10, and 5 optional updates. I installed the windows securities essentials but for some reason it is still showing that I needs to be updated. Malwarebytes keeps saying that it has expired even then I can still scan for threats. Please advise
Could you list the KB’s that aren’t installing and does MBAM update ?
The error is with IE 10 update. Errornk
9c59 and KB80070003. Yes I think the mbam is update now
Could you try this fixit please in the aggressive mode http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336
After running microsoft fixit in aggressive mode this is the error I got
Error found…
Code 9C59 Windows encountered an unknown error
Hmm about as useful as a chocolate teapot …
Evidently this problem with IE10 has been around since March this year, with MS keeping very quiet about it
Apart from that update is the system running better.
Next trick is to download the updates and prior to install disable Avast until next reboot
Yes, it seems to be running just fine. I am not really concerned with IE10 update, I’m ok with IE9 which is what I have.
Thank you for everything.
