Please help if you can

Hi all it’s me happy avast user again:)

I have a problem with Windows firewall, The problem I have is when my computer starts up and everything is loaded my windows firewall is turned off:(
When I turn it on I cannot connect to the internet:(

I must admit that I DID A VERY SILLY thing and that was I put Outpost firewall on but took it off straight away as I could see it giving me problem.
I had the Free Outpost Firewall and thought there was an updated version which there was but for the Pro version.
I have uninstalled them both but windows firewall remains off and wont turn on again.
I do use C Cleaner and I cleaned the registry with it and my PC is a lot faster and runs better.
The only problem I have is with the firewall being turned off, can anyone please give me advice on how to solve this issue please?

I made a silly mistake and I HAVE LEARNT MY LESSON.

I don’t see that as a silly thing to attempt at all.
Nothing wrong with trying a firewall out. It seems the uninstall may not have gone so smoothly, though.

Did you reboot following the uninstall?
Did you run the installer, and the uninstaller as an admin, or from an account with admin rights?

Hi Tarq57,

Thanks for your reply, yes my PC did reboot

I could not find an uninstaller, could I ask where to find an uninstaller for Outpost?

If you don’t mind me asking what firewall do you user?

Thanks again.

I actually meant the built in uninstaller that would have come with the program, normally accessible via the control panel, manage programs.

Id try installing it again, rebooting, then uninstalling it. Grasping at straws a little, to tell the truth. I didn’t have any problems when I had Outpost installed. Did you get it from their homepage, or another site?

If not, this is their support forum http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/index.php?s=5aff3cf994ec2a5c36c2a16c7ce25c29.

Nice.

Sorry Tarq57. Sometimes reinstalling is needed, however the OP put Free and Pro on his machine.

No, I meant it. No hidden meaning, there.
