Try this http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html

hey Garfield, how are you today?!
I think bob is mean to do a good install again and then un-install it via add/remove programs again

Dan,
If you check out that link, you’ll see it helps to do both and also remove old versions of other AV programs.

3. Run the Avast Uninstall program downloaded earlier to remove all remnents. 4. Again Reboot your system.

OK guy at last i decided to continue use avast as my guardian
but some question is Why avast need to update Vps everyday(almost)?
Is it ok? :o

Why avast need to update Vps everyday(almost)?
Sometimes it's more than once a day. It's only a few Kb at a time.

All (or most) security applications/antiviruses use what is called a “definitions file”. This contains information/names/signatures for as many of the thousands of new malware files created every day as possible.
The VPS update is the definitions file for Avast. It should be set to automatically update, which will then ensure that Avast can guard against the new viruses.
There will always be “new” new viruses that aren’t in the definitions file, yet. But having the latest definitions offers the best chance of catching most of them.

;D alright ,thank you very much :-*
