Hello!

Avast founded in my computer the virus Win32:Zombie-B, in three places:
C:\System Volume Information_restore… ;
C:\WINDOWS\Temp_avast4_ and
C:\Arquivos de programas\Marcos Velasco Security\My Folder Protector 3.4

Please, could you help me remove it?

Did you move it to the virus chest in avast? If so, it can do no harm from there.

Follow the relevant advice here, but scan with avast! instead of Trend Micro:

Solution:
Identifying the Malware Program

To remove this malware, first identify the malware program.

Scan your system with your Trend Micro antivirus avast! product.

NOTE all files detected as TROJ_ZOMBIE.12 Win32:Zombie-B.

[Additional step: upload the file to VirusTotal to confirm it is indeed TROJ_ZOMBIE.12/Win32:Zombie-B:

You may need to extract the file from the chest and temporarily disable avast! in order to send the file to VirusTotal. If the file is identified as the above virus, proceed as below. If only avast! identifies it as malware, submit the file to avast! from the virus chest.]

Trend Micro customers need to download the latest pattern file before scanning their system. Other users can use Housecall, Trend Micro’s online virus scanner.

Terminating the Malware Program

This procedure terminates the running malware process. You will need the name(s) of the file(s) detected earlier.

Open Windows Task Manager.

» On Windows 95, 98, and ME, press
CTRL+ALT+DELETE
» On Windows NT, 2000, and XP, press

CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, then click the Processes tab. In the list of running programs*, locate the malware file(s) detected earlier.

Select one of the detected files, then press either the End Task or the End Process button, depending on the version of Windows on your system.

Do the same for all detected malware files in the list of running processes.

To check if the malware process has been terminated, close Task Manager, and then open it again.

Close Task Manager.

*NOTE: On systems running Windows 95, 98, and ME, Windows Task Manager may not show certain processes. You can use a third party process viewer such as Process Explorer to terminate the malware process. Otherwise, continue with the next procedure, noting additional instructions.

Addressing Registry Shell Spawning

This procedure prevents the malware from executing whenever a user opens files with certain extension names. It should restore the registry to its original settings.

Click Start>Run.

In the Open input box, type:

command /c copy %WinDir%\regedit.exe regedit.com | regedit.com Press Enter.

In the left panel, double-click the following:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT>exefile>shell>open>command In the right panel, locate the registry entry:

Default Check whether its value is the path and file name of the malware file.

If the value is the malware file, right-click Default and select Modify to change its value.

In the Value data input box, delete the existing value and type the default value:
“%1”%*

Repeat this procedure for the following registry keys:
* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\exefileshell\open\command

Close Registry Editor.

Click Start>Run, then type:
command /c del regedit.com

Press Enter.

Additional Windows ME/XP Cleaning Instructions

Users running Windows ME and XP must disable System Restore to allow full scanning of infected systems.

Users running other Windows versions can proceed with the succeeding procedure sets.
