How do I remove the virus from my chest without letting them back into my computer? I read something that told me to restore and repair… well< i restored but I dont see anything about repair. I dont know what to do.
What is it in the chest, file name and original location, malware name and which section of the Chest is it in ?
Repair would only be offered (on detection) if it is possible to attempt it, this depends on the malware type if it was a file covered by the VRDB generation, etc. so the above question is important.
I don’t know what you read (?), but Restoring a file considered infected is ill advised.
There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, a protected area where it can do no harm. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a few weeks. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them.
Just a few executable files infected with few variants of virus could be repaired.
Generally, the files into Chest shouldn’t be restored (unless they’re false detected as being infected).
