Please help Virus: Log included.

My friend’s laptop is very slow and lagging.

I have ran all the programs and listed the logs.

Mostly PUPs, but had one adware.GamePlayLab

After removal, it seems a little faster, but still lagging.

Hopefully someone can help me speed this thing back up.

One of the things that really is slowing down his system, is that Symantec crap he is using.
My suggestion is to remove it completely and install avast and see how things are after it.

Depends what Norton version … not much but it is lighter on system according to latest AV test

According to the logs it is the full Norton Security Suite.

Let me know how it is after this

How is the computer behaving now ?

still very slow. I opened chrome and it took several seconds and got an error saying it was taking too long and asked me if I wanted to wait.

very slow boot times. well over a full minute.

Has the system ever been defragmented ? The RAM is sufficient and there is plenty of hard drive space

The temp clean up removed nearly 5Gb of files

I would suggest a re-install of Chrome as it is very easy for it to be corrupted

You could use xboot to increase the speed of the boot, I can give instructions for that if you wish but, it can take an hour to run
