Please help with Avast's pops up Malware/Trojan Blocked

Hello,

I am having the same issue as other people in this forum about Avast keeps reporting blocked threads. I originally had Mcfee as my antivirus but got attacked by Security Shield, so I download Rkill and Malwarebytes to fix that problem. Then I uninstall Mcfee and download Avast, then the problem started. I also download the Mcfee removal tool (after uninstall) to get rid everything of Mcfee, not sure if it’s working correctly.

But I followed the instructions and attach the logs. I will have to attach in two posts since they said my attachments’ size are too big. I don’t know how to change the logs to ANSI format :frowning:

Thank you so much in advance.

And the OTL log.

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

I accidently press Esc while OTL is fixing ( when the desktop disappeared) … :frowning: will that effect the fixing process… ? but it seems like it’s still fixing.

Nope not a problem Combofix will catch anything that OTL misses

this appear when I ComboFix scan. I already uninstalled Mcfee, I don’t know how to disable those :(. Please advise.

Here is the OTL log after Quick Scan.

I went ahead and have ComboFix ran anyway. It did and after reboot, the avast some how enable itself, so while the window of ComboFix preparing log, I had to disable abvast ( did not click mouse on ComboFix window) . At last, it finished, I’m attaching the ComboFix log here. Let’s see if the problem fix. aarrhhh… so complicated lol…

Thank you for all the help! I appreciated … soo much

The alerts seem to stop. I just wonder if you can advise one more issue. I uninstalled Mcfee first, then download the Mcfee removal tool to clean up the rest, but it seems like the Mcfee security center is still remain, because ComboFix stated that, and my window firewall is off, can’t turn it on because it says the firewall might be on from Mcfee. and also on the list of Notifications Area Icons , I still see the Mcfee Security center -mcagent.exe icon (even it’s not on the front display).

The computer seems fine, should I try to get rid of the rest of Mcfee ?

Thanks a bunch !

OK could you rerun this McAfee tool http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

If that fails then I will do a manual removal which will require a fresh OTL scan

Meanwhile is all still well ?

Hey,

I ran the removal tool, but I don’t know how to check if it’s still there lol. Will we need to remove ComboFix and OTL? Should I run Malwarebytes again to see if it still detect Trojan0access or Trojan.Dropper ?

If you wish, but be aware there are still copies in quarantine in qoobox and OTL_moved files

More to the point how is the computer behaving, before I remove the tools ?

I don’t know, the computer has stopped with the Avast alerts, but should I wait until tomorrow to see? And if I scan Malwarebytes again and it detect Trojan.Dropper again, does that mean I have other problems?

Since you said, there are still copies in quarantine and somewhere , then I guess I shouldn’t remove the tool? arhh, I got me all nervous again. lol

No need to be nervous, they are safely tucked away in quarantine and quite harmless

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean
