Please help with uninstall

I’m trying to uninstall Avast from my desktop PC that I recently upgraded to Windows 10.

I’ve started the uninstallation process but I have reached a stage where the program says ‘Uninstalling Kernal Driver:’ and has not moved on for quite a long time.

There’s no error message and the Task Manager doesn’t suggest that the uninstaller has crashed.

Is this normally a long process? How long should I expect to wait?

Why do you want to remove avast?

Have you tried http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe

The “Avastclear.exe” tool posted above this post, once downloaded and you doubleclick the .exe will ask to boot to safemode automatically, you will need to “ok” the process.
