Does anyone know if the home version of avast will get rid of the Backdoor.Trojan virus? i’m not very good with computers and have never tried avast before. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

“Backdoor.Trojan” is a rather generic naming (of Symantec??), so we can’t really say much about that…
Avast will probably detect it, but there’s no warranty…
→ Please read the link" VirusRemoval" below in my sig and then give us some more infos…, e.g.:
- exact location and name of infected file(s) …: info from your AV’s alert/report/log
- a hijackthis-Log for diagnosis
- the version of Windows you’re using
- maybe results of onlinescans
Then we’ll probably be able to help you, even if you won’t install avast (which of course you could/should… ;D ;D
→ If so however you’d need to uninstall your AV first… )
