PLEASE HELP!!!!

After two days, I will make a long story short, I had to reformat my computer, now here lies my dilemma:
Before formatting Limewire and Avast worked perfectly together and now not at all. I disable my Windows firewall like always and installed Avast then Limewire and it is not connecting, it says Limewire has detected a firewall yet I know that I disabled the Windows firewall.
I am running Windows XP and my IP provider is Shaw, I have tried to follow some of the steps posts here as to what to try but nothing so far has worked, please help.

Thanks
Shawna

Install Limeware before avast…
Anyway, avast does not have a firewall, it does not need to disable Windows firewall.
Limeware does not require disabling the firewall too.
Using a P2P could require advanced configuration of the firewall (opening ports). Anyway, take care, the Windows firewall protects only the inbound traffic (if you let it enabled of course) and not the outbound. I suggest a free 3rd party firewall (take a look into Comodo, PC Tools, ZoneAlarm or Kerio) 8)

Okay I have tried unistalling both and reinstalling Limewiree first, however still the same says it has detected a firewall. I have gone inot my security settings to check my Windows firewall and now it will not allow me to enable it again, it says it is protected by group settings. Normally I do not have any issues with stuff like this but for some reason this time everything is going wrong.
If ANYONE has any more information as to how I can rectify this please let me know.

So, a Limeware bug or trouble… Doesn’t it have a forum or community?
Limeware hasn’t a good press into P2P users due to virus being spread… maybe you should check other P2P program, anyway, not a single P2P program is safe nowadays as the nets are deeply infected even by the manufactures trying to protect their copyrights…
