Please help!

Hi, I’m a new AVAST Home user with a new Lenovo Ideapad. Love Avast and Lenovo, but Avast has identified the image.dll of the OneKey [Lenovo] backup application as having a virus: Win32:Vapsup-CB [Adw], which is just adware…The app won’t run without this dll and I can’t figure out how to get Avast to let me use it! I’ve tried running ‘restore’, which says it completed successfully – I thought this would fix it, but I guess I don’t know what I’m doing! ???

Can anyone help?

Many thanks,
Cecile

Please follow the advice here; avast! is usually pretty quick to deal with problems like this:

thanks very much! I managed to finally figure out how to add it to the exclusions, but I’ll follow your advice and send in the info on it, too.

Always advisable to confirm the detection or otherwise at virustotal.

when we opened the awast, the web pages didn,t open ,but when we closed the avast the web pages opened…What is the problem, please help us…

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashWebSv.exe internet access ?

  • If it does delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
