PLEASE send me my v5 key

Hey guys. I bought v4.8 a while ago from avast.co.za (South Africa). Ive finally managed to upgrade to v5 Pro. I just want to get the license file under my OWN email, so I dont have to deal with the incompetent people at avast.co.za again. is that at all possible?

first part of my v4.8 key: W8940379R2600A0711

Contant sales@avast.com

Just to be sure, you need to change your avast 4 key into a version 5 one?
The email is not used by avast besides the fact of sending you the key.

Try this - avast! 5 Pro license convert from 4.8 Pro license. Try http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php now, fill in the form giving your email and 4.8 Pro License key and they will send the new license file to you (presumably it will check you have a legit 4.8 Pro license first).

Thanks guys

But the problem is. when i bought the key from http://www.avast.co.za/ they seem to use sales@avast.co.za to register your account. so my key is now tied to THEIR email. so cant get my key… and I’ve tried getting my key from theses (read retards) people, but I’m getting nowhere for more than 2 weeks now.

Personally if i was avast id shut down the guys at avast.co.za since they seems all the more like they scammed me more than anything else.

If you had installed 5.0 pro over 4.8 pro it would have retained the original license information for use in 5.0 for the remainder of the license period.

Unfortunately if you didn’t do that you are either going to contact the reseller avast.co.za or as suggested sales (at) avast (dot) com and see if they can intervene/help.

i mailed sales@avast.com as Shiw Liang suggested. more than 24 hours ago. haven’t heard anything from them… it’s so ironic. I know guys who pirate avast. they get no hassles. me. the idiot that goes legit. has to deal with all this incompetence… Ive sure learned my lesson.

Does your ISP or you use an anti-spam filter as this is the most common reason for non-receipt of email and have it allow emails from the avast.com domain.

Either that or try contacting them using a different email account, a free email one like Yahoo or Gmail as that in the past has resolved any non-receipt due to anti-spam filter blocking.

I fear that since you said that your licence is under sales (at) avast (dot) co (dot) za I don’t know how that might impact what avast.com sales are able to do in identifying the/your license details.

  1. (www.)avast.co.za does not excist (not opening in any of my browsers)
  2. If you purchase a license you will get the key/file send to the email you supplied.
  3. The image you supplied shows the license was NOT for you.

Looks to me you have been scammed.

@ Eddy

The site opens in my firefox 3.6 no problems, see image below of an extract of the contact us page.

Strange, tried it with a proxy also. Nothing opens. Only getting 404’s

haha. I’ve gotten no response from no-one. seems that’s the way avast treats their customers. O well i tried my best. tired of this dam struggle. Thanks guys. I’ll just get my buddies pirate copy. I’ve really got better things todo with my time.

It’ always a good idea to retain the email message that contained your Avast 4.8 license. The email address that was used by Alwil to send it along with the information contained in the message is required by Alwil to issue a license for Avast 5. If you can’t provide that, then there is no way to tell if your request is genuine.

If your buddy has a pirate copy, you really need to change the crowd you run with. ;D

hey its taken a week but techsupport@avast.com just mailed me my key. hip hip hooray. whoooop do the happy dance with me!

As for the wrong crowd comment. in South Africa, Software costs is ALOT, internet cost is ALOT. these kinda things are still considered a luxury over here… haha. fastest internet we have here is 4mb lines (that cost a arm and a leg) and we still have caps (uncapped, that costs kidneys and a lung… monthly.) so majority of people here just cant afford to pay for these kinda things. so piracy is quite common. also keep in mind our police force is useless.

As you can see, having a little patience doesn’t harm.
Alwill does respond, but you are not their only customer so it can be busy.
