If you want to do more than just AV, then PLEASE make those packages SEPARATE and Distinct from the AV - I have my own firewall and I do not want webratings.

Instead of bundling them all in with the AV - why not SIMPLY make them optional (separately downloadable) options that CAN integrate, but do not detract from the main functioning of the AV.

Sadly, like SO many predecessors, AVAST! is fast becoming SERIOUS bloatware. I urge you to stop it before it goes any further. Stop trying to be everything in one package (lean from the mistake fo others! coughNortoncough … coughMcAfeecough)

All components can be individually removed via the uninstall/change feature, if you don’t want webratings that can also be removed via settings/browser protection ( untick webrep ).

Nothing to stop you from doing a custom install in the first place and only install the components you want.

Avast 2014 is not bloated with stuff that is not needed. I always do a custom install on every piece of software I install especially Office 2010.

You might be completely off topic here as there is no mention of the OP using the 2014 beta and what you do with Office was not up for questioning either.

Like others said if you don’t like some modules or it makes you feel that you have a software that is bloated why not doing a custom installation and only install what “matters” to you?
