A user reported that Avast apparently shows our browser plugin (http://www.beelinereader.com) as “dangerous”. All we do is apply color gradients to make text-heavy pages easier to read. How do we get off of this blacklist?
Good to know—I’m not sure what problem the redditor had in particular. Did you install Chrome extension or Firefox plugin? Thanks for looking into this.
Gotcha. The redditor clarified that he’s using Firefox. There’s no reason why Avast should treat the two extensions differently, since the functionality is the same. Would appreciate guidance in getting our Firefox plugin cleared!
I’m trying to find out how to get Avast to treat the Firefox plugin the same way they treat the (functionally identical) Chrome extension. Is this not the right place to find out how to do this? It’s hard to see how a text-coloring plugin is “dangerous” in any way, and I can’t find anywhere (else) to report this inappropriate flagging. It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction, since telling my users to switch browsers isn’t really a great solution!
