i scanned the file using avast 4.6.691 Home edition. It showed that the file was unaffected but after opening it avast showed threat messages. then i tried to remove the file. but avast forced me to do a boot time scan. So i did that and it deleted the files. But still i am having troubles by that. I don’t know whether it’s a trojan or virus .Because of its attack i can’t open some of my files. Examples are regedit, registry mechanic, CWShredder,Task bar properties,… When i run those the window appears and soon it gets minimized. I tried many times but i cant maximize that. The thing is that the sooner it gets maximised the sooner it gets minimised…??From my observation i found that most of the files that it doesn’t maximise are related to registry.
I tried to get the hijack log but an error message occured. I’m hereby attaching that error message as a picture.
I don’t know how to explain more. Hope u all might have understood. Till now avast is not showing any probs in my PC. Then what is this problem???
I’m having Windows XP Professional SP2. Processor is P4.
Maybe you should try antispywares and antitrojans applications before. At least, Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, A-squared, Ewido or Microsoft AntiSpyware (freewares). Did you remember the name and path of the infected file, and the virus name?
I did the things that u prescribed. but of no use. Can i send you the file which caused this? If so, How should i send that? As a zip file. And whether to be password protected?
No, please :o
Send an email with the file (false positive or infected) to: virus@avast.com
You can zip and password the files… Inform a link to this thread and the password used.
You can send the files to Chest and, from there, resend to Alwil for analysis.
Thanks.
