Po-up won't go away

I inherited a pop-up from livejasmin.com that will not go away. I placed it in the HOSTS file and now it comes up empty which is good. Unfortunately, it seems to be more serious than that. I tried to put it into the Tools/InternetOptions/Security/Restricted sites
but I get a box coming up saying that ‘the site I specified already exists in another zone. To remove it from that zone before etc’

However, there is no other zone. So, I looked into the Regedit and found an entry for livejasmin. I deleted it in safe mode and placed it in the 'Restricted sites, but as soon as I rebooted and looked in Regeditwas it was there again. I assume there is something in the system that I must get rid of, but don’t know where to start. Even if I delete the Regedit entry again while I surf (I have been experimenting with the particular site that provokes the pop-up) the pop up will still come up (empty because of the HOSTS file entry).

Many thanks

Check your computer for Malware with

MBAM http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
update and run quick scan, click the button “remove selected” to quarantine anything found, and restart

SAS http://filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/

Are cookies really spyware and are they dangerous?
http://www.superantispyware.com/supportfaqdisplay.html?faq=26

If anything is found other than cookies you may post the scan logs here

I scanned already with MalawareBytes and SuperantiSpyware and th computer is clean according to them. I am trying to paste the results of the OTL but they do not get accepted because itis too long., een when I split ii in two. Can I send it as a file?

You can attach your OTL log.

Download and run HiJackThis from Trend Micro and post the log here.

Thanks for your help. Los attached.

Hi

Any chance of a reply, please?

qim

Essexboy is the one who can read this OTL log, i have sendt him a PM…so wait and see…

Nothing relating to live jasmine showing in that log - although research reveals that it is triggered by a cookie - so lets clear that first before we go any further

Download TFC to your desktop

[*]Open the file and close any other windows.
[*]It will close all programs itself when run, make sure to let it run uninterrupted.
[*]Click the Start button to begin the process. The program should not take long to finish its job
[*]Once its finished it should reboot your machine, if not, do this yourself to ensure a complete clean

Let me know if that clears it - if not I will go deeper

Well, the computer seems ok. If you did not find anything strange in the earlier logs that I sent you (did you?), I guess it is best to leave things as they as I am sure you are busy with more urgent cases.

Thank you very much

qm

But let me know if there was anything in the OTL log and the others
