Poblems acessing iis 5 server with avast 4.6 home edition ans zonelarm 4.5 insta

Dear all,

Has any one experienced the following symptoms.

On rebooting my PC I am unable to access via the internet my iis 5 webserver.
However I start and stop the services used to run iis5 the server becomes visible.

set up win 2k service pack 4 + latest hotfixes / security updates
256MB of ram

avast 4.6 home edition
zonealarm 4.5 free edition

Is there a work around I could apply to make iis 5 work correctly.
Could it be the websheild protection is causing a problem with iis5 ?

Any advice greatly received.

Zone Alarm is currently in its 6.1 version. However, I am afraid I know nothing about IIS but if you are patient a knowledgeable should be along soon. Can you ensure that webshield has access rights in ZA

Ignore local traffic in Avast.

Also, if ZLS service starts after IIS service that might be the cause. Not sure how you can stop that, other than manually starting IIS after boot of Windows or trying another Firewall product.

I use both avast pro and the ZA suite. 4.5 is really outdated and I would think that not your only problrm. You should update to 6.1
