Hi
I guess you already know how I like it … Perfect update keep up the good work !

Slowly becoming accustomed to the new GUI, otherwise it is the quality I have come to expect
I loved the avast 7 UI, so it is hard to use any of the selections in the poll, it wouldn’t be ‘About the same as V7’ or above and the selections below that are too negative.
The free UI really does need more contrast, but would I go back to avast 7 over aesthetics no, but avast 8 free hurts my eyes.
I’m liking it.
The top notch security still impresses me after these years.
Thanks. ![]()
I have installed AIS on all 5 computers.
Nary a problem.

I voted it’s rubbish… (referring to the GUI). I have no idea why everyone is doing the “windows 8” look-a-like contest. Big childish blocks that look like it belongs in a baby’s play pen.
I love Avast and have been using it for over 5 years, the guts and glory have always been robust but this 2013 windows 8 look makes me want to barf!
when is version 9 out?
I agree with David, the GUI needs more contrast. It is really hard on the eyes. Especially for us old geezers.
I do like the layout of the “Summary” screen. This is much better than the pie chart of v7.0
Also a huge thank you for removing the email from the GUI.
You might want to add an option “I like some and don’t like some”. ???
edit: As far as a resident anti-virus goes…it’s avast. Enough said. 8)
Just installed and im extremely impressed.Like the nice graphics particularly the shields and cloud screens.(Im a sucker for graphics).Thank you and your hard work is very much appreciated.
Good for me as always!
I just love the new UI, it’s much more compact ^^
5+
Tried it and don’t really care for it…just a personal opinion, of course, but I prefer Version 7 and will continue to use it. I don’t need or want a lot of the new features…a good example is the firewall…I have one that works perfectly. Also, I dont like the new GUI at all. I’m used to Version 7 and REALLY like it’s layout. Not to mention the fact that I don’t like ANYTHING about Windows 8 or it’s “look”. I still use XP with service pack 3 and it run’s like a charm on 3 flight simulators and everything else. Of course I DO know how to maintain the machine and that means a LOT
That’s my 2 cents…LOL

Good, so far the only ‘niggle’ I have is the maximize button has gone.
The only problem I had was the program updater on one computer said IE 10 was out of date (needed to be updated to 10.0.9200.16521)
Clicking the Fix button took me to Windows Update which said there were no updates available.
Not a big issue for me as I dont use IE, and fixed this problem by turning off IE in Windows 8 Pro.
Wish list, are there any plans to allow users to add programs to the Software Update option? Or have I just not found that option yet.
On the three computers I have updated there are only 4 or 5 programs listed in the Software Update option.
Just discovered another problem, My Avast account web page/ Devices is saying one of my computers does not have the Avast firewall turned on. Avast on that computer shows it turned on with a 100% safe score.
Don’t like the GUI right now, but I suppose I’ll get used to it.
I like the protection, so the appearance isn’t that important.
I’m loving the version 8, thank you avast team. 2 years + and I’ve forgot how it is to have a virus…
Best AV software out there.
love ya
Looks different than 7, but that seems to be where the major differences start & end.
Next Thursday.
