I often collide with opinion of other people, that, actually, avast! not such a class antivirus. Really it is the truth? It was a question of that avast! at scanning does not find out some viruses, unlike other antiviruses.
Avast finds 100% of in-the-wild viruses. But not 100% of ALL viruses. But then again, NO antivirus detects everything. It wouldn’t harm if you use another (on-demand only!) AV. But “class”, as you named it, doesn’t only have to do with detection. Resources, ease of use, fast updates, support & the fact that it doesn’t screw-up (if you pardon my french) your OS is something that counts also. I have used: Kaspersky, Panda, McAfee, Norton, AntiVir etc and all caused me serious trouble (ADS, heavy update, slow start-ups, difficulty in un-installing and much more).
In my opinion, avast! is a very “classy” AV!
Who are you walking with? ;D
Poor Norton and AVG users? ;D ;D
Do they really know what avast is able to do?
The truth is once you start using avast you wont want to use anything else
I beg to differ.
I had “P****” (name withheld…LOL ;)) on this specific PC. I thought it was working…I was wrong. When I UNinstalled “P****” (omg what a mess to do that…another story) and installed and ran AVAST, it found some nasties on the PC that the previous AV never saw or told me about.
Everyone has different opinions, on which is good, better or best (I am not going into that debate)…all I am saying is that AVAST has served me well as far as detection, configuration and updates. If I have a problem, I come in here and ask…and I get the answers I require.
When anyone demeans an application/program and they have never tried it, or tested it…IMHO is not a fair critique.
That is my .00000002 cents :-X
Cheers
I can am mistaken, but it seems to me, that avast! not absolutely is still stable in work. But, I think, in due course the situation will change for the better.
Why do you say so?
What problem can’t you solve using avast?
I compared work avast! and Kaspersky Personal Pro by the same machine. And it seemed to me, that Kaspersky looks more stable, than avast!. I, certainly, understand, that my estimations are subjective, but the sensation was strong and clear.
I compared work avast! and Kaspersky Personal Pro by the same machine.
Are you saying that you have two resident scanners on your machine or did you test one, uninstall it, install the other and test that?
If not and you have two resident scanners on the system at the same time there is potential for conflict and this may appear to be a stability problem.
You not correctly have understood me. Certainly, at me by the machine never was two working antiviruses!
perhaps you can explain to us what you mean about stability problems?
I am sorry to say, but there is a troll smell in here now.
