This is my first post and most likely my last, however I wanted the members to know just how I felt about avast. 2 weeks ago I sent a email to sales with a message and asked them to simply reply yes or no which I would have appreciated. They never gave me the time of day!!! Ok so I waited and than decided to send a message to the CEO just asking for a quick reply…nothing… that is one hell of a way to run a business.
Now I will bet if I was the president of a company asking for 50 licenses of their product you would see how quick they would apply…but since I am just one person they don’t see money signs they won’t give you a time of day…That is what happens when a company gets to big…
Hi Scott:
I sent it to the proper email address on Avast main web site. Its just a point of matter that Avast Sales or Management do not care about the little people, that is the reason for this email. When Avast first came on the market I was able to email management and they responded with no hesitation…now …they don’t care unless your ready to spend big dollars.
I agree that the support for avast is lacking somewhat, and is an area for them to improve…maybe that is the reason that the forum is used more so.
I see now that the website has changed a little, since there used to be email addresses for each department (hence my earlier question). Now there is the contact form which has the different options in it.
Is that how you contacted them?
Also, if necessary, you can still ask your question here. Someone may be able to help
Thanks for the advise scot that is what I would expect from them. Does not matter I am going to contact the people in concern and advise them to go to another suite not Avast I am disgusted with Avast
Well there are probably lots of people asking the same thing give me a free Pro/AIS license and I will review your software, etc. I don’t know if your wording in the email was the same as you posted, but that to me almost sounds like an ultimatum if you don’t give me a license you won’t do it as the testing/evaluation can be done on the Trial version. So I don’t know how they might have taken it.
Since you have been approached by two companies to do this, wouldn’t they be remunerating you ?
That said not receiving a reply stating this or similar isn’t good and isn’t what I have come to expect from avast.
One thing I could suggest is If you did this, I don’t know what avast resellers get in the way of remuneration on the sales they make, but that is another avenue.
To be honest, if I was to be asked by a company to review a product that they might consider to buy, I would expect the requesting company to provide a licence for the software to be tested in case any available trial-periods are not sufficient (which, IMHO, is not the case with Avast: 30 days is lots of time to test)… shouldn’t be too much of a burden for a company. 8)
To be even more honest, to me this sounds more like someone trying to trickily pick up a free licence.
Let me respond and clear this matter up so there is no misunderstanding. In the beginning when I sent the original email, yes…I was upset as it was over a week and I did not receive a reply.
I must admit my wording was not how it was intended to be. I have worked with software where I needed more time and the company’s have given me a 60 days extension and in some cases 90, but that is all. I have now been contacted by sales and they have explained why it took so long to responded and I am satisfied. The company’s that have contacted me I advised them a favorable response by Avast and I have encouraged them at this point to contact sales or marketing for further information on all their products. I have recommend Avast to them as their reputation and software from others whom have worked with it speak highly of it. I hope this clears my thread on this matter and no ill feelings towards me.
