Is there a way for AVAST to scan my POP MAIL that I recieve on Yahoo Mail? I would like to have Avast enter a CLEAN OUTBOUND or INCOMING messege text at the bottom like it does in Outlook ???
Yahoo only offers pop mail if you pay for it. And if you do, you can pick the mail up/send the mail with any email client. In which case Avast will be able to scan it add a message or anything else you can do with any pop mail.
Will it add the text at the bottom of an email thats done in Yahoo Mail on the web? ???
Why asking again? I just gave you the answer.
No, avast can’t edit web pages that are displayed in your browser.
Yahoo is not a pop3 email service, it is web based (so the Internet Mail provider doesn’t directly protect it). Web based email is simply your email being viewed in the same way you browser the Internet. The pages (that display your email) are downloaded into your Temporary Internet folder, just like regular web pages and displayed on your browser screen.
Yahoo does I believe scan emails that come into it’s inbox, but you would have to confirm that yourself.
Set-up the standard shield to High, that way all files created/modified will be scanned.

Little correction David,
He (she?) was specifically talking about Yahoo POP mail, not the webbased mail services. That means getting/sending the mail with a email client and not through webpages
I’m not sure what they want, I took my cue from the last part of their question.
Yahoo Mail on the web?
Little correction Eddy… he speciafically meant on Yahoo web access…
Will it add the text at the bottom of an email thats done in Yahoo Mail on the web?
No, BBr|Ubergeek… it will not add signature at the bottom of your e-mails. avast! will add those signatures only in case you have access to your Yahoo e-mail account through pop3 (some of those e-mail clients like Outlook Express, Incredimail, Thunderbird etc.)
Thank you … yea I mean on the web … not just POP3 Yahoo Mail. I know it will do that
a correction…only U.S. yahoo and some other yahoo mail charge for pop mail service…i use yahoo mail from singapore yahoo site…and pop mail service is free…
Another thing that I know is that if you also have sbcglobal.net DSL service with them, it will send both mail accts to OE for free.
With sbc you pay for it. The forwarding to OE is calculated in their price.
