Pop Up Blockers

Was looking at some blockers, and down loaded 2-3, and did not work to well with windows ME. So I went to our “search” and searched for pop up blockers !!Found some good prior post’s and investigated a few. was supprised that Pop up Blockers are tied to a persons “Browser”, (no wounder the ones I down loaded didn’t work to good.) Also was supprised to find out that IE6, which I am using, is suppose to have one built in !!. (I don’t have it, and my IE6 is fully updated, I Think !. ::slight_smile: I guess what I am asking is, Dose any one know of a good FREE Pop Up Blocker for windows ME "? (any thing except tool bars). Thanks.

IE7 has a built in Blocker. Don’t remember one in IE6.

I too don’t believe there is a pop-up blocker in IE6, I still have that, but there is no way I would contemplate using it to browse the internet.

You can use something like Avant or Maxthon, which better interfaces that still use the IE code but are more configurable and also have pop-up blocking integrated.

Firefox has a pop-up blocker but I don’t believe the latest version will work on winME.

[i]@DavidR; you are correct…the Firefox V3 will NOT work with WindowsMe :frowning:

@hines232; you’re only options appear to be to use the pop-up blockers in either the Yahoo! or Google Toolbars… Of course you could abandon IE, as I did some time back and move to Firefox 2 which I think you can still download… 8)[/i]

IE 6 had a popup blocker, but only on XP with SP2
IE 6 has a pop up blocker under the tools option and also works with XP with Service Pack 3

You do not need to change browsers unless you want to do it. At the link below are several pop-up blockers that will work with ME.
