Now, I’m not sure if I have malware/virus or not. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
This isn’t as important as other people’s problems are, but my computer hasn’t been on the internet for a long time and I’ve been disconnected from it. But I just recently went back on it, and I’m pretty sure I didn’t click on anything and a pop-up showed up asking me if I wanted to run a program. I just canceled it out.
My family member needed on my computer for something on a .gov website (.gov websites are completely safe correct?) but apparently a Adobe Flashplayer update was installing while my family member was on my computer. I just canceled it out when I seen it’s icon at the bottom of my screen.
Is this the cause of a virus/malware? Avast, Windows Defender, my firewall etc… Hasn’t told me about any viruses/malware that I might have, and I did a thorough scan with up-to-date MBAM and it said there was no malware.
I should be safe correct?
I also have two more questions if you don’t mind:
-
How good is MBAM and Avast? I heard their really good, and so far I really like them. But I’ve heard people say they haven’t been able to catch some viruses. So how accurate in your opinion is MBAM and Avast? If they both say that my computer is malware-free, that should mean that there’s a high chance that I really am malware free?

My computer is usually disconnected from the internet, so my computer’s Avast and MBAM doesn’t get updated as often. But despite this, MBAM seems to update to the latest version even if I didn’t get the updates before the newest one. Is Avast the same way?
Thanks in advance. Sorry for the trouble.
