I’ve got a problem installing popfile. I work with outlook express and the latest version of avast. However popfile is properly installed, it does not work. I can get my emails, but nothing else happens.
I’ve tried to change the pop3 listening port to 123 (as suggested in the help files of popfile) and adjusting the accounts, but no effect. Is there anything else I can do ?
I got Popfile working for a user in another forum a couple of weeks ago … let’s see if I can remember.
I think that you want it to go:
OE ↔ Popfile ↔ avast ↔ Mail Server
Let’s see if this will work.
In the Popfile Control Center POP3 section tell it to listen on port 7110 (yes - that’s 7110)
In OE for the account you want Popfile to work on in the server settings:
Server: localhost
Port: 7110
Username: localhost:yourusername@yourPOP3server
Where, of course, you replace yourusername and yourPOP3server with appropriate information.
No changes to avast.
Thanks for your kind advice, but it doesn’t work. I’ve got a message from oe, asking for my login and password, so it did’nt recognize the changes.
Problems are solved !
I had to change the accountname in 127.0.0.1 and the login in : my.server.com:loginname. There was no need to change the portnumber.
