I have a paid subscription to Avast why do I have to deal with popup ads from avast ?
Is there a way to stop having these ads for other avast products stopped ??
Seeing them is one of the things that annoy me the most.
It’s having something I bought with real world cash keep’s nagging me to buy more stuff that I don’t need or want.
Until this stops I won’t recommend Avast to anyone. >:( >:( >:(
Simply disable them in the settings.
settings > appearance > popups section
If you want to use software,
it is always a smart idea to learn about what it offers, what settings it has, what you can change etc. etc.
You can disable update info in avast! > Settings > Update > Details > Show notification box after automatic updates.
Not really necessary if you have one of the paid versions, in which case you can disable offer popups, without having to disable auto update notifications. That is something the free version user can do to circumvent them.
Personally I hate opt-out options, especially in this instance as first the user gets pi**ed about the ads and may not find the option to turn them off - it should be off by default for paid users.
Oh, you’re right. I’ve forgotten this. Where are these options by the way?
Avast Settings: Appearance: “Show popup offerings for other Avast! products”. Uncheck it.
right click system tray icon > select/click on silent/gaming mode so its ticked.
Avast won’t annoy you with any popups.
The problem with doing as you suggested is what happens when avast detects an attack?
Warning pop-ups are there for a reason…protection.
Your suggestion is good for those that use the free version as long as they realize that
you’ll also miss certain important notifications.
In the paid version, you have the option to block the pop ups and still receive the important notifications.
