Popup every twenty seconds: URL blocked

I’m having a problem. Every twenty seconds avast! is showing this popup:

MALWARE BLOCKED

avast! Network Shield has blocked a harmful site

Object: hxxp://onceagaincrap.com/x/
Infection: URL:Mal
Process: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe

Neither avast! nor MBAM appear to be able to find it.

I’ve attached the logs.

Help! It’s driving me crazy.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

TDSSKiller appears to have corrected the problem. I ran ComboFix as directed but, unfortunately, it does not appear to have produced a log. Enclosed find the other logs requested.

Re-run TDSSKiller when the following element appears select delete :

\Device\Harddisk0\DR0 ( TDSS File System )

Then re-run combofix please

Hi all,

I am getting this irritating message as well. It is also popping up for the URL hxxp://yetanothersheet.com/x/ and another IP address too.

How would I know if this fix would work for my machine? Do I need to upload log files? I am at work right now but can upload them tonight if necessary. (Windows XP)

Also, where are these log files? In the Avast directory?

Sorry, I’m kind of new at all this.

Thanks!
Dude

@neurodude follow the steps in the above thread and then attach them in your own topic

AHA! It all makes sense now. :-[

Thanks!

I re-ran TDSSKiller and ran ComboFix. Attached find the 2nd TDSSKiller log and the ComboFix log

Methinks it is dead… How is the computer behaving ?

run farbar service scanner

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/FSS.GIF

Tick “All” options.
Press “Scan”.
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Enclosed find the requested log.

:frowning: I still appear to be having some problems. I appear to have a Google redirect problem that doesn’t show up on all searches, just some. Various other web-related problems. Neither avast nor MBAM find anything.

After digging into Chrome I found a pair of malicious add-ins. At least after disabling them I didn’t seem to have the same problems I’d seen. We’ll see.

Is all well now ?
