Popup "You are not protected" blah blah blah

What’s with the popup from Avast telling me I am not protected and to subscribe when I am already a subscriber???

What gives???

They want you to buy more

Yeah, pretty much >:(

If you Right Click the Avast Tray icon > Registration information - What does it say for My Subscriptions ?
You need to be signed into your Avast Account for this installation to be linked to your subscription/s.

In the notification settings you can set the “limited” notification which allows you not to display notifications of commercial offers but only those useful for security.

@ Neal21
What would have been really helpful would have been a screenshot of the notification being given as it isn’t clear what that is.

Hence my thinking it is about your existing subscription.

It says I am a subscriber, dunno what this popup was about, says I’m not subscribed. If I see it again, I’ll take a screenie.

It is sounding more like promoting another Avast paid product.

I get them occasionally on the Avast Free antivirus, whilst it might/could be a weakness that isn’t covered by what you have. You have a headache, I have an aspirin, that will be xx$ For me they are either covered by another tool I have or I’m not particularly concerned about the issue.

The one thing I would recommend is making regular backups of your system to an off-line SSD/HDD device. I do a full system backup monthly and a data backup fortnightly. Should the worst ever happen I’m pretty much covered.
