Positives Adobe ARMHelper.exe, ReaderUpdater.exe

Anyone else gotten these?

My wife’s got a little Toshiba netbook running Windows 7, and when she opened up Mozilla Firefox she immediately got a warning suggesting that she do a complete scan.

Immediately, one positive (Win32:Trojan-gen) came up which i sent to the virus chest. Then another, from AdobeARMhelper.exe that wouldn’t let me send it to the chest, or repair, or delete or anything.

What’s that all about?

deactivate your file system shield now and do not re-activate it until the next update is available. There’s a false positive disaster going on right now.

Please update your VPS to: 120205-1
Solved…??

05-2 now

Yep, hard to keep track today.

Turns out she had an older version of Avast Free, updated to the most recent one available, with virus definitions updated to 5-02 (thanks!)

Ran a scan, no threats detected. Well see what happens next time she uses it.

Thanks for the advice.
