Did you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning. Select for scanning archives. Boot.
Did you run AVG antispyware, a-squared, SuperAntispyware or any other trojan remover?
Hi Roseman :
For HOW to post a HijackThis log, see the info at :
www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial94.html .
There are many volunteer EXPERIENCED Malware Experts, usually
found on antiSPYWARE Support Forums; would recommend
you use one of them, like www.landzdown.com .
Hi Roseman,
This is a perfectly Safe program. Here’s the info that should put you at ease:
RTE – RTEGPRS.EXE
Rtegprs.exe installs with RTE by Smartcom/RTE Technologies.
This program, created in France, helps companies to manage their communications via fax
(FotoWin & RTE FAX), email, PDFmail and SMS messaging. More information (in French)
can be found at http://www.rte-multimedia.com/rtetech.aspx. If you use this program,
we’d recommend leaving this file in place. If you’re in a corporate setting, check with your IT person before removing it.
Safe
Hopefully you’ll see this message before you start to tear your computer apart.
