I’m using Avast on Windows XP/SP2 and am wondering if it is the problem that a program called Zoot–an excellent info storage and retrieval program–cannot install. The installer appears to run, but does nothing, then quits. It is a 16-bit program, if that’s important, and it does run run under XP/SP2.
I’m just asking because I’m baffled.
Any information appreciated.

Apparently the config.nt file was the culprit. I edited it and removed the setting for the Avast device, and Zoot installed. Does this have any effect on Avast itself?
