Possible problem with avast 6.0.1000

I think I have a problem with avast6.0 .
Version 5.1.889 of avast recognized “WirelessKeyView” (downloaded on nirsoft.net) as a virus and not even allow me to download it. but now recognizes it as a secure file.Is it normal? ???
another thing … I installed Avast on another computer with another antivirus (A…a Antivir), and Avast! not found it.I have done the same thing again with the version 5.0.667 of Avast and took over the other. this too is normal? ???

P.s. sorry for my bad english, I hope I was clear… ;D

Do you have PUP enabled…??

Yes,is active

Do you think it’s malware…??
You can test it at virustotal.com
asyn

It’s a PUP. Clean. Make an exclusion into avast.

I don’t know. on the computer that I used it, the antiviru installed on it found that as a virus. Maybe because it look in the windows registry and this is detected as a virus.on the manufacturer’s website it says that it is detected but it is a false positive. Then who is right? the old or the new version of avast?

Please test the file on VT.

Check on virustotal.
NirSoft.net is very known to develop PUPs.

Ok. Thanks Tech! Thancks Asyn! I tested the file on VT.com
What do you think the other problem I have found?

  1. Results…??
  2. Sorry, I don’t really understand your other problem, as installing 2 AVs on one computer is never a good idea…

Do not use ever a second antivirus in the same computer… Sooner or later, problems and conflicts…

Rusults of the scan on VT.com is “16 /43 (37.2%)”.It is a really fase-positive!
For the other problem, I do not intend to install two antivirus together … I know that conflict and not function well.
When I replaced the antivirus on that computer had an internet connection active while downloading the avast’s file.
I have not uninstalled the other antivirus until the installation and registration of avast.
But the other time doing the same thing but with version 5.0.667 avast, the latter pointed out the other anti-virus and warned me of possible conflict.
So I want to know why it did not happen this time?

16/43 doesn’t look like a FP…!!! Please post the VT link.

The utility is just fine, using it myself. It’s PUP, end of story. It displays sensitive information - as the name (“WirelessKeyView”) suggests.

Thanks. Typically Nirsoft, I would say. ;D
