possiblekey logger

hi. i have Avast Internet Security Paid version 7.0.1456; Malwarebytes Anti-Malware paid version 1.62.0.1300; Secunia; Google Chrome & IE9. I need to know how to check for key-loggers on my system, as the anti-spyware in my Avast isn’t scanning anything at all for spyware. Something is trying to hack my computer again, as Avast blocked them the other day. My Trusteer Rapport has also blocked 919 attempts in the last 3 weeks. I also have DNT+. What i need to know is what can i get & keep that is compatable with my Avast & Malwarebytes to remove any & all key-loggers & spyware ??

I am fixing to start my own Business & I really don’t want to be hacked again, as i was in May, when i was here in the forums.

My syustem is a windows 7; Service Pack 1; HP G56 Notebook PC; Intel 2.19GHz; Memory RAM 3.00GB; 64-bit operating system.[suspicious][/suspicious]

as the anti-spyware in my Avast isn't scanning anything at all for spyware.
eh...okay...how is that, can you give some more info ?

follow this guide and attach (not copy and paste) logs from malwarebytes / OTL / aswMBR

OBS: the fancy green text in your post may look nice…but does not make it easier to read

sorry about the color. what i meant to say is the antispam isn’t scanning any mail.

ok, the other day, avast popped up with “virus alert” while i was on line. it said “we are sending the virus to avast to check”. i got off line, looked into the virus chest & the sandbox, nothing there. i can’t even remember the name of the virus. so i ran a scan & a malware scan, then restarted my pc. well, then i checked with my Trusteed Rapport, latest findings are: number of block screen capture events-8; key stroke loggers blocked-93; blocked process alterations-439.

i guess what i’m trying to say is this: the keys on the keyboard aren’t wanting to work on some websites–missing vowels & letters; IE9 turns solid black & stops; web pages stop for over 2 min, then i ctrl+alt+del to end the web page as i can’t get out of the web page; the avast web shield crashed 2 days ago, but revived itself; and i’m sure i forgot something.

do you know if i need a spyware checker or a key logger checker to use when i might need this ? i know my malware scans for bad malware, but who or whar scans for the basic & non-basic spyware ?

are you saying you want log files from malwarebytes ? i no longer have OTL & being 53 i can’t remember what i did on the OTL or where i even got it, other than i was following directions in the forum here as i had just been hacked, total out-of-the-box system recovery in May. and, what is the aswMBR ? i think i was told to delete it also. so, unsure how to get that one either. i’m sorry. i do however, well i think i do, remember how to do a log file. sorry i’m so old, but if you could refresh my memory, i’d be greatly appreciated. thank you

and how do you access your mail....webmail....or do you use a mail client like thunderbird / outlook express / outlook ?

avast and malwarebytes will scan and detect any malicious file.....it should not be necessary to have anything else....... but no security program have 100% detection

That is why i gave you a link to follow..... in my post above

when logs are attached a removal expert will be notified. and will check to see if you have any infection

oops, i didn’t see the link. i found the link now, sorry. thanks & i’ll get back here wed. as mom has a dr. appt. tomorrow, so the day is gone, but i’ll return wednesday. thanks so much for the help.

oh, i access my email thru the web. yahoo & gmail. never heard of thunderbird before.

Hi bambibear,

Avast! cannot scan webmail (Gmail, Yahoo! and the like,) web browser based mail as each will come with their own virus scanner. For example, Yahoo! uses Norton Antivirus, Hotmail uses Trend Micro, etc,. Thunderbird is an email client program you install on your computer; all mail from an email vendor is downloaded to your system when you open and run it or you use that program to send mail out.

Avast! will scan incoming email from an email vendor, but only if something like Thunderbird is installed and used; it will scan outgoing mail if it is set up properly.

If no email client program is installed (if you use webmail), then the email vendor provides the antivirus, no need for Avast! to scan.

Sorry you are having problems.

hi again mchain. how have you been ? i’ve been ok. glad to see a familiar person.

ok, even though i’ll be back wed., i ran the scans, logs are enclosed. man, i hope i don’t have a keylogger.

oh, something keeps popping up whenever i get online: http://w3.dailygidts4u.com. i keep xing out of it, but it’s really becoming a pain. can i block this from doing this everytime i get on line ?

thanks mchain for coming back to say hi & explain to me the email. i kinda figured something like that, on the avast not being able to scan email, but now i know what thunderbird is.

thanks you both, i’ll be back wednesday. have a great nite & a great tomorrow.

hi again. didn’t know i could only give you 4 attachments. hopefully i’m getting what you need.

have a wonderful nite all.

hi i am back from ma’s doctors. please advise on my next steps. :-\thank you

Hi I can see no indication of a keylogger at all

Have a look here for key scambler http://www.qfxsoftware.com/

hi thank you essexboy. i’ll take a look. can you tell me if i keep the OTL & aswMBR or do i remove them ?

also, are you wanting me to get or download the gfxsoftware.com to look for a key scrambler ?

i have both google chrome & IE9, will this work on either of these or both of them ?

thank you

To remove OTL then just run the rogramme and hit the cleanup button… aswMBR can be deleted from the desktop

The keyscrambler is a handy programme to have as it makes any keystrokes impossible to log

hi again, essexboy. i run OTL, & hit cleanup, got it. aswMBR delete from the desktop, got it.

i’ll get the keyscrambler if it’s not expensive. avast & malwarebytes have been doing a good job, but if they want in your computer, they’ll find a way. i found that out at least twice.

thanks again, essexboy. i’m so glad i didn’t have anything major, like last time.

There is a free personal edition http://www.qfxsoftware.com/ks-windows/which-keyscrambler.htm

hi essexboy. i looked, i am using google chrome more than IE9. the free version only works with the IE9, that’s what it said. so, since i can’t afford it right now, i’ll just hang in there.

haven’t had any problems using the chrome yet. all those problems were in IE9. so, since i’m still protected in google with the same things i had in IE9, i’ll keep using chrome right now.

i want to really thank you all for allowing me to have my notebook here checked. i’m sooooo glad it wasn’t hit again with hackers. thank goodness & knock-on-wood !!

you all are the best. with all the virus protectors i’ve had, you all are the tops, #1 in my book. i owe you all big hugs. ;D

thank you again.

My pleasure ;D
