Dunno if this is the right place to post a forum-related question, but here goes:
From a user-point-of-view: Wouldn’t it be recommendable to activate the option: ‘Notify me of replies’ upfront?
People who do not want to be notified of answers to their questions, well … what the h*ll are you doing here anyway?
People who do want to be notified of answers/ solutions, don’t have to make this extra step.
Seems logical to me.
Do you not see the tabs on the right above and below your post that say “Notify”
Do you really think I and others that are posting a lot want their inbox cluttered with messages like “There is a new reply…” ?
Well … maybe I’m more talking about the situation that one is the post creator.
Viewing it from that angle it seems (very) logical to me.
But indeed, there are other points of view …
The correct place would have been in the General forum - ‘anything and everything about this board.’ Though it is also given some latitude to post off-topic (unrelated to avast). The my.avast.com forum is relating to that web URL - basically questions relating to your avast account and that site.
I don’t know why or when this changed (possibly on the relaunch of the avast forum), but previously this was the default option to receive notifications to your topics/posts.
If you haven’t already found this, try changing your forum Profile - Modify Profile > Notifications - enable the ‘Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.’ Note previously there was a post count restriction on what elements of the profile settings you could change - I don’t know if that is still in force or if this option would be accessible.
