I think it is a misunderstanding, because of the multiple URL for the site, especially for a first post.
You don’t explain why users can’t use your toolbar with avast. However, checking the ci.exe reveals a dll within the ci.exe file as adware.
Sign of "Win32:Adware-gen [Adw]" has been found in "hxxp://www . carrefourinternet.com/toolbar/ci.exe\$INSTDIR\tbu09304\tbhelper.dll" file.
Sign of "Win32:Adware-gen [Adw]" has been found in "D:\Downloads\ci.exe\$INSTDIR\tbu09304\tbhelper.dll" file.
avast! isn’t alone in detecting adware, DrWeb link checker does so as well.
SVP faite quelques chose.
Currently, we have complaints only people who use avast.
Our toolbar displays ads and our users are paying for it.
We have 180,000 members and we are obliged to ask them to use a different anti-virus if you do nothing done.
avast is probably the most configurable anti-virus and it is quite easy to exclude a file from being scanned if they accept any risk in doing that. So all they need do is add it to the avast exclusion lists (see below).
Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add enter the full path to the detected file, tdhelper.dll wherever it is. Program Settings, Exclusions
Any avast user is welcome to use what is their support forum.
You can also submit the file for analysis with supporting information and see if it can’t be resolved.
If you are getting a virus warning that you believe is a false positive, then if you can zip and password protect (‘virus’, will do) the suspect file and send it to virus @ avast.com (no spaces), or send from the chest (after adding it to the User Files section of the chest).
Give a brief outline of the problem (possibly a link to this thread), the fact that you believe it to be a false positive and include the password in the body of the email and False Positive in the subject. Some info on the avast version and VPS number (see about avast {right click avast icon}) will also help.
