Another happy user here, but RejZoR’s ‘PowerDefragmenter’ is the GUI interface which gives a friendly face to the actual power behind PowerDefragmenter, which is contig from sysinternals.com
Where can you download the actual program not the GUI?
There is a link to get the contig program in the about PowerDefragmenter, but here it is http://www.sysinternals.com/utilities/contig.html.
It is also in the info page if you click the PowerDefragmenter GUI at RejZoR’s site.
Problem is that i don’t get any feedback from the contig.exe component itself. So downside of this is that you have to watch that DOS like window.
Still, it’s much user friendly to feed the commands to the commandline program using simple and effective interface.
I also haven’t figure it out how to use fragmentation analyzing without loosing the command line window when results are available.
But hey, 4/5 stars is not bad at all either ;D
Thanks for notification, i’ll add this to the news section on my webpage
The Good
RejZoR, without your GUI I won’t even user contig
The Bad
Hide the command line window. Add a scheduler.
Well, this is on the review…
Well i could add a hide cmd window option but that would create additional imo unnecessary option in the GUI. If you don’t want to see it, minimize it to taskbar. This way it will stay out of the way.
Scheduler on the other hand won’t gonna happen. Ever. Probably.
I haven’t figured out how to link tasks directly into Task Scheduler, especially not on Win2k/XP because you often need account specific login info for that thing to work.
If you are after suggestions ;D how about having the focus on the OK button after the completion of the defrag, the window pops up but there is no focus. The same as happens when you click Quit, the pop-up window is displayed and the focus is on Yes.
