I’m a new user, Avast4 Home, Win98, dial-in modem Install went fine but whenever I try to dial in (connect automatically) I get a black screen in the upper left, “Pre-Dial Terminal Screen”, I hit “continue”, screen goes away and modem dials in, but next time screen is right back. Where did this come from and how can I disable it? I have the modem connection set in Avast settings, and “always dial” in IE connection. Many thanks, George
In the connections settings of IE there is an option for the terminal screen, isn’t it?
I suppose that in Windows 98 it will be in ‘Modem’ configuration and will be called something like ‘Show Terminal Window’… Hope this guess help in anything.
Thanks, that was a good tip. I couldn’t find the “terminal screen” prompt, but it started me in the right direction. I re-set my Internet connection to show my own, original Pop3 server, not Avast, and the screen disappeared. Everything else works fine. George
Sorry George… I did not understand what you mean by “set my Internet connection to show my own, original Pop3 server, not Avast”
The “Terminal Screen” was a shot and a translation for one opf my ‘hardware and drivers’ modem settings.
