I have had a tech support ticket open since 27/October. This is three and a half weeks now.
I am a licensed user of aVast Premier. I paid for 3 licenses for 2 years (the fool me) and ended up with a horrible UI on the latest 2014 build - hardly usable.
This in turn, did not work with windows 8.1, and on top of that, since the MANDATORY upgrade to 2014, I have license that is BLACKLISTED and I have to apply manual virus updates if I even want to get protection at all.
WHY?
I am a paying customer here, why is my support ticket is effectively being ignored, and I’m left with half a product!!
Why has my license been revoked? Why, when it is showing valid until 2015 for god sake!
The standard only response I have gotten from tech support, is uninstall, clean, reinstall. This didn’t help at all.
Please don’t ignore me. Plus any free users or any that read this message that currently use other people’s anti-virus products -
Don’t bother. The lack of support and a product that works is truely horrendous. Well done aVast (sarcasm in case it was lost on anyone…)
On top of this the capcha’s on the forum are broken! I fail once, and they say the post has already been posted… like WTF.

I too have the Premier version and i raised an issue with the support team a couple of weeks ago regarding Safezone and this is still not resolved. Someone else on the forum also has the same problem so I am thinking its a bug in the program.
My issue was that settings in the Safezone browser would not remain e.g. when checking the “show home” box in the browser settings, then closing and re-opening the browser, the "show home " box was unchecked again. This happens for all settings.
Also, whenever i switch from my normal browser to Safezone when i log on to Paypal, i keep getting a message saying that i need to allow cookies. I have allowed cookies in the Safezone browser and also in the privacy settings of the main GUI settings for Sandbox but it does not work still.
Although i am running the paid version of Premier and Secureline, i nearly switched today to another provider as i dont seem to be getting anywhere especially considering i have paid products.
It was because Avast had a secure banking/shopping browser that i invested in their products but maybe i was wrong to take that route.

So Avast,
Apart from the one post above from Staff, is this ticket going to be looked at? It doesn’t look to be too hard - just remove the blacklisting.
You can’t really be serious here? I’ve paid £90 for your product.
I’ll become all the more vocal in complaining if nothing is done about this.

I had the same experience with Avast! Support last year. I’ve been a paying customer for several years, most recently using Avast Internet Security ver. 7. I posted a review on Amazon (where I bought the download) that explained what happened. Here is the paired down version:
" … However, something went wrong with a system repair (necessitated by an unrelated wi-fi problem) and I haven’t been able to get it back up and running. I have sent repair tickets and log files three times and emailed a couple more times since this started ten days ago. The only response is canned letters explaining the reinstall process, which is the problem; I get an error during the install process which results in AIS uninstalling itself. I’m sure this could be fixed, but they do not appear to have any interest in supporting the products after they’ve made the sale."
“Update: It has been almost 2 months since I resorted to a complete reinstall of my operating system, which allowed me to install the updated AIS. I finally got a response from Avast support 2 weeks ago with the same suggestions they gave all along which did not work. They also don’t actually read the support “tickets” I send, replying with canned responses. I deleted the email. Now I have run Firefox in the AIS sandbox, which will not turn off now that I need it to. I am now going to research a replacement and dump AIS even though I have six months left on the contract.”
I am sorry to admit to the following:
“Update 2: I spent many hours researching other security products, as I do every year when it is time to renew. As much as I hated the idea, I re-upped with Avast! since they are hands down the best product I have found for protecting me online. I still think their support is terrible, but the protection is great.”
