hi is avast premier a good stand alone software or would it work better with another yes i do have avast premier just like to know as all my bank details and credit cards on my computer thanks if you can help. johnyjohn
We advise to use avast and as extra MBam (=MalwareBytes).
The reason is that there is no software that detects/blocks all threads.
These two work fine together and each has things that the other doesn’t detect.
thank you Eddy. johnyjohn
If you use USB removable drives it is also recomended to install MCShield http://www.mcshield.net/ ( a must have tool on all school / hotel and internet cafe computers )
FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/MCShield
it is a install and forget program, it use no resource as it is dormant until a UBS device is plugged in, then it scan and remove if anything is found and goes to sleep again
It only targets those malware types that use USB to spread and it only scan root of the drive, meaning if you plug in a full 1TB drive it will not scan all files on it that is for your AV to do
Another recommended antimalware program: SuperAntiSpyware.
ehman, no it is not !
It is very well known amongst real experts for having a huge amount of false positives and other problems.
Some do.
Anyway it’s only meant to be used in addition to Avast and MBAM (as I do), not as the sole antimalware program.
Been using SuperAntiSpyware and yes i have had false positve many years ago. All I had to do is report it and within couple of hours it got fixed and at present it still works fine and I am not facing any issues/problems.
What the people at SuperAntiSpyware can’t seem to get working is stopping the false detections for Bitdefender.
Over the past 6(!) years it is detecting Bitdefender as malicious on and off.
Thanks for all the advice but i will stick eddy with mwb thanks johnyjohn
If you install programs on your computer, you should also have Unchecky installed. ![]()
