I am finding that I have serious delays when opening a jpg or camera RAW format file and when saving these files using various types of photo editing software such as Photoshop.
Does Avast scan files on opening and saving?
It was suggested that I prevent my anti-virus program from scanning these files to help improve processing time.
It is a seurity risk, but yes, you can exclude Photoshop and your images folder. The best way would be to exclude them just in the File System Shield. This way will still leave avast! the option to scan the program and the images folder when doing a quick or full scan. I warn you that this is done on your own risk and in no way I encourage the exclusion of any folder or program from being scan.
Open avast! > SECURITY > ANTIVIRUS > File System Shield > Settings > Exclusions > Add. Then browse for the program. Do the same for the picture folder.
