How do I permanently prevent Avast from starting when I boot my computer? I don’t want to uninstall, unless that is the only recourse, just stop it from starting at all.
See attached below for Passive Mode.

No; that’s not the answer. I want to PREVENT startup of Avast. Is that possible without uninstalling it?
To start with, why would you need that…?
I’d rather not get into a circle of sub-discussions on the reasons why. Is it possible to prevent startup of Avast without uninstalling it?
That’s ok, but if so, I’m out.
Does anyone know the answer?
Dont know if it is possible, but If it is a scanner only you want that does not start up at computer boot then there are other options
I am aware of the “Disable permanently” option in the shields control, but I’m trying to have a normal startup, with every startup, of the computer with no Avast processes running at all.
With other options i mean other programs…
No, that’s not possible; you’d have to uninstall.
I mean, of course you could manually remove the relevant registry keys to prevent the processes from starting, but first it’s not everything (there are other things being loaded, e.g. drivers), second they would most likely come back during program updates (and possibly other operations), third there’s no point in having Avast in that state on your machine (I would say it could cause more harm than good) - so uninstalling would be a safer option.
Thanks. I’ll uninstall it.
