Prevent users from permanently disabling real time shields?

I’ve got Avast Pro, some of our technicians use a piece of hardware to do diagnostics that requires the real time shields be shut off temporarily. The problem is they are shutting it off permanently because they don’t want to be bothered. Is there some way of removing the “disable permanently” command from the real time shields so that the worst they could do is disable until next restart?

there is password protect… have never tried it

if you forget the password, you must reinstall avast… first removing it using the uninstall tool

Yes, I’m aware of the password protection, but that won’t help. In essence, what I need to be able to do is to allow them to turn off real time shields temporarily only. They have to be able to turn off the shields and the password will simply prevent that completely.

if you right click avast tray icon… there is a disable shield for xx time… or is that the one they use?

WOW, technicians leaving A/V disabled! You need to fix that now, before negative repercussions!

Have them chose disable until next reboot. I was disappointed that I could un-install avast! without the password.

Advantage77, I hear you, but… there is no way to FORCE them to only disable until next reboot. I am not an administrator, I don’t have authority to take disciplinary action against these technicians. Ultimately, I’m looking for a technical solution that will remove the “disable permanently” option from the selection menu. I know this must be possible. The techs have been warned and counseled and begged and pleaded, but in the end, a few keep choosing to just select the permanent option.
