I am new to both AIS and the forum, so I’m hoping this topic has not been covered before. I have tried to search for safezone and print, printer, or printing in both the Support Center and the Forum but have not been able to find an answer to my question.
I’m hoping some kind soul will give clueless me step-by-step instructions on how to access my printer while in SafeZone because Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) is not allowing me to see my printer or to install one while I am in SafeZone.
SafeZone detects your local/network printers automatically so they should be allowed in SafeZone – I’m sure it’s working on 32-bit OSes, but I’ll retest it on 64-bit platform tomorrow.
Do you use local or network printers?
Settings for local printing is read from registry – what’s your DefaultSpoolDirectory value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers ? (mine is: C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS)
Thank you so much! I have uninstalled and re-installed the printer but am still unable to print in SafeZone, so I hope that your re-test will help me troubleshoot my printing problem.

My value is the same as yours, and my printer is connected to my computer, which I assume means it’s local.
Just checking in so that this topic is not closed before the problem can be resolved. I am still unable to print in SafeZone, which rather defeats the purpose of using it for anything that requires a receipt
I do hope someone will be able to help me troubleshoot this problem with my printer and/or avast.
