I updated to v22.10 just now, and I noticed that I don’t have the Privacy settings menu (which just allows you to turn on the Password Manager within Avast) on my new/current laptop (first image) but I have it on my old laptop after also updating to v22.10 (second image).
It’s not always a minute. Most of the time at best restarting is a nuisance that isn’t always needed, especially in this case since if a restart is needed after a repair install, Avast will tell you that’s the case. It didn’t for me this time. At worst I get a ten minute anxiety attack when my laptop takes its sweet time turning on and then everything is super slow as it’s starting up.
As far as your screenshot attachment, im’ able to see the Privacy menu that you show from the main Avast screen, which is what your picture is of. What i’m referring to is from the settings menu (click settings and see if you get it on the left side).
It’s possible that I don’t, and if that’s the case then it makes sense. However, I don’t remember specifically installing it on my other laptop either, and it shows up there, though I last clean installed Avast on that computer at least 6-7 years ago, so I can’t really remember what I did or didn’t select.
Is there a way to see if Password Manager is or isn’t installed like I can with, for example, the Firewall?
In Avast Free, if you go to Menu >Settings and don’t see “Privacy”, that is because you do not have any of the paid Avast components or the Avast Passwords component enabled.
Please restart Windows after enabling the Avast Passwords(old) component, and you should see “Privacy” (in Menu > Settings). https://support.avast.com/article/add-remove-antivirus-components/
