Private browsing has already arrived with Minefield, the nightly build test version of Firefox or my version:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081106 Minefield/3.1b2pre - Build ID: 20081106033429
You will find the option under Tools as Private browsing. What it is all about and how it works you can read here:
Mind you that some of these tools have to be excluded from you av-scanner, because they are taken up as risktools, because tunneling is now considered questionable practices by some parties, just like tools like wget are flagged by some scanners, because they have certain flairs & aspects, which are frowned upon nowadays, as monitoring has become more and more of a one-sided affair (don’t need to explain this further, I assume),
GoogleChrome came second, but it did things to the contrary of safeguarding your privacy (at Google that is), that is why IronChrome was developed, that does a very thorough job and does not spill all your tracks to Big Brother: http://www.srware.net/
Does it matter who offered it first, if your browser has the function and you use it no problem.
It has been available in some form or other (add-on, etc.) in firefox for some time. Personally I don’t feel the need to use it I’m not doing anything worth hiding ;D
However, if the UK Government has its way creating a huge database of all telephone, mobile calls, texts, emails, communications, sites visited, etc. etc. then perhaps it might be worth covering your tail ;D
Mind you this Governments history of failed large scale IT projects is notorious, only surpassed by its total inability to keep its data secure.
At this point, what’s left to hide. ??? ;D ???
I’ve been so overexposed for so long that even the color of my undershirt is probably
available someplace on the net. ;D
you’re right - so i just have to wait for opera also to offer it ;D

i also tried chrome and really liked it - but now i think i’ll change to the Iron-browser!
Iron fails PC Flank’s Browser Test, both regular window & incognito window. I closed the regular window when before I tested the incognito window.
It would be nice if Iron could be started in incognito. The option to create a desktop or quick launch is greyed out in incognito.
If Iron could be started incognito, passed browser test & had bookmark icon in navigation bar It would be a very attractive browser to consider for my default browser.
