Hi! Recently in one of the latest numbers of Ukrainian edition of CHIP magazine I found an article about this application, saying that this is a good soft if someone wants to feel more secure while surfing the web. Could I have your opinion about this software, please? :
Take care.

Halio avatar2005,
I have privoxy in combination with Torpark, and that is a good combination. Human rights workers rely on its anonymization. You can make it even safer logging on and off (where your ISP can track you) to spoof this with the ref spoof extension in Torpark.
The only hick-up I found was with ZoneAlarm that would not work alsongside Torpark (crashed), so I installed COMODO FW and this worked beautifully.
I installed a special security folder inside Torpark, nsCMS.cpp, NSCertTree etc etc. You go to koders and there you can find this code. Privoxy is not for security, it is more to protect your privacy (in combination with TOR) Do not try RgGuard, it is a trojaned keylogger pest.

Doesn’t it slow down the browsing too much using proxies?
Hi Tech,
Certainly it does, so you use Torpark only under certain circumstances where your anonymity is important.
Torpark in combination with Privoxy is not for general browsing or secure browsing. It is for those situations where you should hide your clickstream, for instance for human rights people under censorship circumstances or people trying to find medical information that should be anonymous, and you can think of somewhat more situations where your anonymity is at stake. We have so little anonimity left in the days of the transparant surfer, that these measures are more or less a last resort for the common Internet user.

Thanks, Polonus, very elucidative, as usual.
Hi! Thankyou guys for your answers, I think, I’ll follow your advices & will use Privoxy ,along with the other mentioned apps.
Thanks again. Take care. Rostik.
