probably been hacked again

hi. problems with avast and other issues, which means i have been hacked i guess. avast 4.8 has been running since my last post a few weeks ago and i have IO360 security running as well. comp has been a bit glitchy last 3 or 4 days with btbroadband playing up a bit. tonite i tried to run a scan with avast and after the memory check i get a box saying something like " skin is incomplete ". can you get a fix on it from that? i really don’t fancy another install of vista. i think i got hacked on the asus crosshair forum (it’s happened before). if that’s the case there was no sign of it and probably got hit by clicking on a link. the other issue was when i was downloading some software from a torrent, avast signalled a trojan, which i stuck in the chest. i spoke to the author of the software package and he said prolly not anything to worry about. it’s still in the chest as far as i know but can’t get avast to function properly. thanks in advance, again,g

May be you should donwload some skins of avast and restart Avast.

Sometimes this happens when the skin files of avast get messed up, so it wont show up.

But, How do you actually think that you got hacked, any symptoms of this problem like too much memory consumption.
Why dont you check active connections to your computer

hi prateek. i was able to get into avast chest and found some stuff. the torrent trojan i mentioned was win32 trojan-gen. i’ll google these later. also, above and below that one, are kernell32.dll (3 of) 2 of these are dated last change 29/9/2009. and the others in the chest are winsock.dll and wsock32.dll (2 of).
i have been meaning to reinstall bt, see if that helps. i’ll have a go at the skins. okay…g

the trojan is win32:trojan-gen{other} and i found a big post on it in avast forum. the kernels and winsocks are system files and not infected files, so i guess they are not a problem.
