when i connect to the internet now i get an avast inews pop-up screen that has news about the 4.1.396 update, then i get a message avast needs to restart the operating system. i restart, connect again and the same thing happens over again. what should i do?
Please post the file \setup\setup.log (you’ll have to give it the .txt extension before being able to post it to the forum).

vlk, i’m not sure what you’re asking me to do…
Open the file C:.…\avast4\setup\setup.log in Notepad and save it like setup.txt.

I’ve got a vaguely related problem – no fresh iNews at all since before the current flood of bug-fix releases. The latest one I’m showing is for the release of 4.1.396.
I recognize, of course, that the team has probably been working around-the-clock with these bug fixes – but the on-site iNews is more or less up to date.
Some time ago I’d set my INI so the news doesn’t display in the splash screen at all, only on request (i.e., through the menu). But typically that summary window of what’s been successfully downloaded and installed will mention iNews too, if that’s been updated, and I’ve seen nothing there either.
Want my setup.log too? Or any other suggestions?

yes small update on inews to reflext new version should be neat (just simple and plain text 
i was having trouble with the attachment. btw, the last time i connected to the internet i didn’t see the inews or restart computer pop-ups.
