Does it allow avast.setup internet access ?

The problem occurs after an Avast program update. OA firewall will block outbound connection because it no longer recognizes Avast. You, or your son, need to set Online Armour firewall to allow the “new” Avast connection.
If you keep Online Armour installed, turn the Windows Firewall off.

I do not use OA, so I don’t know for certain. Your son installed it, get him to find the rule. Somewhere in the settings there will be an option to have a prompt when a program attempts a connection to the internet.
I believe this is likely to be a firewall issue.
But you should also find the setup log, and post the last lines (~100) from the bottom of that log, as Tech has asked.
