I have following problem: I using now Avast for years and am quite happy with it…
i have gone to Middle East for work and use an new Internetprovider … one of the best here with a good bandwith!
unfortunately this provider ( I am using it with a flash stick) maks a lot of advertisment like:
pop ups
new tabs open with advertisment…
Now all 5 minutes the internet connection breaks down and I assume its because of avast-
evidence: when I end avast and browse without protection, then the connection stays OK !!!
so my question is: where in the options/extras I can change the settings that avast doesnt block my connection??
I’m no expert but this sounds familiar but might be more related to that IP and different to the infamous Yellow Exclamation Triangle pop up on the Internet Network Centre Icon, I’m wondering if you see it?
I’m no expert but you could try reducing some settings for some of the shields, like the Web Shield or just turn one or two Avast! shields off if you have to to use the ad bloated internet connection you have rather than the whole of Avast!, try from a top down hard and heavy setting of things to lower levels in just a few things and see if things will work. Best of luck.
I recommend Firefox for its extensions as best for that, but read up a bit about it and internet option settings for your browser/s. Hint, do block cookies from third parties which hopefully your ISP will be permissive about.
The Avast! Web Shield is a bit buggy and seems to be prone to conflict with things, the ultimate option is to turn it off, but don’t visit sites or downloads things you shouldn’t or don’t trust without it. Everything else of Avast! will work though and you can turn it on when not surfing, as useless as that sounds.
There are a few threads currently on here and at Comodo forums about the Avast! 7 Web Shield causing buggy conflicts for it and I have had an issue with an aspect of the Web Shield back in Avast! 6 agitating the Network/Wireless connection to the internet and cutting it as I explained briefly earlier and I provided a link to a thread that exasperatingly elaborates upon that example, cheers.
I was only recommending to the OP turning off the Web Shield temporarily as a last resort as a workaround in the immediate interim rather than all other Shields and as an alternative to uninstalling Avast! completely…
I was suggesting that while it might sound useless to turn the Web Shield back on at other times when not connected to the internet, I left out saying clearly that it isn’t and I should have explained also that it isn’t useless while you have it turned back on when not surfing the net on the ad bloated ISP connection because AIUI it will be there to do something just in case.
