Problem: Avast4.ini and SQLT setting

Hi
After Ver 4.8 update, my reboots started to take a VERY VERY long time.
During the reboot, I get an error message (MS) your MSQL database s corrupted, uninstall and reinstall.

I click ok and then takes another VERY VERY long time to finish after which
AVAST! says “CANNOT READ from ???” (sorry forget)
but still seems to work except I can not get the virus
screen (enhansed whatever) to load so I can not find task scheduling.

So I read this could be fixed if one changes the .ini file
which I did: I tried ODBC, XML and now it BOOTS faster BUT

the avast icon has a little red circle with a red line through it
(like no smoking sign)
Any ideas?
Thanks

This means your system is not protected.

Since version 4.7.807 a new data storage called SQLT is used by avast!
Other storage methods do not work with new avast versions…

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
  2. Boot.
  3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
  4. Boot.
  5. Install again the latest avast! version.
  6. Boot.
  7. Check and post the results.
